New Isle of Man Legislation As from the 1st July 2008 ALL Electrical installations in Special locations on the Isle of Man have to installed by a qualified competent `Part P` installer, or have to be reported to the local authorities at least 6 weeks before works commences. Eics has circulated hundreds of flyers throughout the Island describing what we can offer. If you have not seen one, then you can view the .pdf file Here Just imagine how much in-convenience this may cause. This can be easily avoided by using a ECA registered installer and Eics are proud to announce this approval. If you use Eics for your electrical installation they will NOT have to notify the local authority and will pass on all documentation and test sheets to them on your behalf.. There are also many benefits of using a ECA registered installer: including the 6 Year ECA warrantee (Conditions apply). More info about he cover ECA members can supply can be found on their website. Minimize the problems which could arise by using `Diy and unqualified electricians, if you are in any doubt whatsoever ask the electrician for his ECA and Dlge approval. The risks are high if you use a uncertified person as prosecutions will be made to anyone who carries out electrical installation projects in dwellings. So if you are about to embark on a electrical installation in your house, maybe a new kitchen, bathroom or complete re-wire contact EICS for a quotation, and remember we offer coverage all over the Island.
