In January2008 a updated version of the wiring regulations was released.
This is known as the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and impacts many areas of electrical installations. These updates and new
regulations have been
implemented to co-inside and harmonize with the rest of the EU. These new
wiring regulations came into force on the Isle of Man on the 1st July 2008 and all qualifying
electrical installations will have to be installed tested and certified by
`Part P` Electrical Installers. This will have a obvious effect on the DIYers` and unqualified tradesmen.
